The renowned Edward James Foundation at West Dean hosts a college where Maz has been giving short courses for 20 years. By attending a course Maz will help you to gain confidence in this traditional medium. With historic references she will teach you how to apply egg tempera on gesso panels by following group step by step exercises. These are complemented with individual tuition to complete your own unique paintings relating to your own subject matter, or that suggested by the course. Tuition is based on the fifteenth century methods of Cennino Andrea Cennino adopted by many artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo, Botticelli, Pre-Raphaelites, Freda Carlo, Picasso, Andrew Wyeth and many more.
